The Coba and Tulum Adventure Tour explores two of the most important mayan settlements:
1. Coba is undoubtedly one of the most important settlements in the Yucatan's peninsula, being compared with Chichen Itza, it is on a surface of more than 70 kilometers and a net of 45 roads (or sacbeob) which communicated the diverse commercial and ceremonial centers of the ancient time, its main monuments are The Nohoch Mul Pyramid (La Piramide de Nohoch Mul), The Church (La Iglesia), The Ball Court (El Juego de Pelota), a set of paints and several lakes, Coba Macanxoc, yaxlaguna, Xcanh.
2. Tulum is characterized to be the only walled ruins by the Caribbean Sea, Tulum word means Wall in Mayan.
This city had a great influence in the Mayan culture, in the land and sea merchandising, since all the routes in that time (1020-1521) got to this city. There have been found vestige artifacts from Mexico to Central America, like pottery, copper, jade, obsidian items. It was also a ceremonial center, since it has many monuments dedicated to the Mayan gods, such as El Templo del Dios Descendente (The Descending God Temple), El Castillo (The Castle), El Templo de los Iniciados (The Initiated Ones Temple), as well as paints and masks from Chaac God.
Tour itinerary: we will start our journey picking you up at your hotel's lobby from 07:00 am. The excursion begins on the recent model bus or van with air conditioner at 8.15 hrs, that will take us to Coba arriving to Coba archeological site at 10:45 approximately to have a guided visit to the main archeological monuments, the group Nohoch Mul, The Church group, The Ball Court, the group of paints, etc. and you will be given a free additional time to take pictures, from there we'll go to have a buffet lunch with food from the region including salads, chicken, beef and fish for main course and desserts (beverage not included), after lunch we will go to Tulum archeological zone where we'll have an hour visit to the descending god monument, to the castle, to the initiated ones temple and to see Chaac god masks, we’ll give you free time to take pictures. The departure back to Cancun will be around 05:00 pm to arrive at 07:00 pm to the first hotel to begin the drop off.
Departure (friday) from: all hotels located in the Cancun and hotel zone the tours have daily departures between 07:00 am and 08:00 am, from your hotel's main door. Let us know your hotel name and we'll provide you the exact pick up time.
Returns: for people staying at hotels in the Cancun downtown zone the tour pick-up point is in front of the hotel Oasis America at Tulum Av.
